Its Thanksgiving week! Every retailer we’ve spoken to is gearing up for the best sales period of the year yet, and its likely that e-commerce is about to make a huge effect this year. Amazon is looking for double-digit growth, while Walmart and Target are looking to make a significant chunk of change from their e-commerce businesses.

That being said, here’s our take on the industry — from the point of the view of the product data.

We’ve been tracking heavily discounted products for the past few years and realized a couple of things — not all are what they seem!

Not all products are discounted equally, and some may even be marked up. Categories like wedding rings, women’s clothing and guitars tend to be overpriced — so make sure to avoid those.
